Job Title: Research Scientist Ecotoxicology (Human and Environmental Safety Division)

Location: Udaipur

Experience Required: 5 to 8 years in ecotoxicology, preferably from GLP CROs


Education: M.Sc./Ph.D. in Toxicology, Environmental Sciences, Zoology, Fisheries, or Life Sciences


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Scientist experienced in conducting various Ecotoxicology studies to join our Human and Environmental Safety (HES) division. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and conducting various regulatory and exploratory ecotoxicological studies on aquatic and terrestrial species, while ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines and internal standards. This role demands scientific rigor, cross-functional coordination, and a commitment to maintaining high laboratory and documentation standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, plan, and execute ecotoxicology studies on aquatic and terrestrial species such as fish, daphnia, earthworms, and honeybees.

  • Maintain and manage laboratory stock cultures of test organisms in line with OECD or other guidelines.

  • Prepare media, reagents, and test solutions; operate laboratory instruments and ensure proper calibration and maintenance.

  • Develop and validate new study protocols and models as required.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data; prepare technical summaries and reports in compliance with GLP and regulatory expectations.

  • Author and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence within the team.

  • Supervise and train research associates and laboratory technicians; ensure efficient day-to-day laboratory management.

  • Review study plans and reports from external CROs; liaise with them to coordinate timely study execution.

  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure secure and efficient data management and documentation in line with organizational policies.

  • Maintain all technical data and records electronically in accordance with internal systems and regulatory standards.

  • Deliver scientific presentations, training sessions, and demonstrations within the department.

  • Participate in scientific meetings, seminars, and conferences when required.

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to explain technical aspects of ecotoxicological endpoints and study results.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety, ISO, and OHSAS standards in all laboratory practices.

  • Contribute to departmental audits and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Skills and Competencies:


  • Hands-on experience in conducting ecotoxicology studies with aquatic and terrestrial organisms.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines (OECD and OCSPP) applicable to ecotoxicity testing.

  • Strong data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing skills.

  • Experience with electronic data management systems and LIMS preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
