Job summary

Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) invites applicants for a Research Intern role in Technology Futures, based in New Delhi or online. You will assist in case studies, literature reviews, and legal analysis related to clean energy manufacturing and trade policy.

You will work under a Research Analyst, gaining exposure to international collaborations and governance frameworks while developing practical policy insights and research outputs for publication and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Trade or Geopolitics.
• Strong analytical and literature review capabilities.
• Experience handling data and basic Excel use is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track policy developments in the global clean energy tech landscape.
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings on trade, governance and manufacturing.
• Support drafting of research outputs based on synthesized findings.
• Assist with organizing documentation and coordinating verification of findings.

Purpose

TheResearch Intern will support the Technology Futures team's ongoing work on clean energy manufacturing, trade policy, and international collaborations. Therole primarily involves contributing to case-study research, legal analysis,and literature reviews.

About the Focus Area

TheCouncil's research on Technology Futures focuses on mainstreaming appropriateglobal and indigenous technologies to achieve sustainable economic growth whiledelivering energy security and jobs in the millions. The team tracks keytechnological developments and innovations in energy transition technologies,and analyses the broader global governance of technology collaborations inareas such as critical minerals, renewable energy, electric vehicles, climategeoengineering, and hydrogen working to shift the narrative from technology\"transfer\" to \"co-development\". This will help toaccelerate the pace and scale of technology access, development, and use,globally.

Key Responsibilities - Research and Analysis

• Track relevant policy developments in theglobal clean energy technology landscape.
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesisefindings on international trade, global governance, industrial developments,and clean technology manufacturing.
• Support drafting of research outputs based onsynthesised findings.
• Assist with organising documentation andcoordinating the verification of research findings.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master'sdegree in:

• Law / Trade / Geopolitics
• Related interdisciplinary fields

Experience

• 0–2 years of relevant experience, includinginternships, research assistantships, or academic projects.
• Prior exposure to legal analysis, tradepolicy, clean energy technologies, or critical minerals is desirable, thoughnot required.
• Analytical skills: ability to synthesise findings across academic literature, legal documents, and agreement text.
• Data handling: comfortable with Excel; familiarity with research or trade databases is anadvantage.
• Technology and policy understanding: foundational grasp of clean energy technologies and internationalgovernance frameworks.
• Communication: strong written and verbal skills.
• Collaboration: able to work independently on assigned research while coordinating closely with theteam.
