Qualifications

• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and resource-constrained platforms such as TV, STB or automotive systems.
• Experience with debugging, tracing and profiling tools, with the ability to perform root-cause analysis across complex software flows.
• Familiarity with memory and performance profiling, optimization, concurrency and multithreaded systems.

The Role Mandate

The Research Engineer - Chromium WebEngine/C++ is a hands-on contributor responsible for developing, optimizing, and stabilizing the Chromium-based Web Engine for TV and embedded platforms. Working under the guidance of the Research Architect, the role implements feature enhancements, supports runtime memory reduction and performance optimization, and contributes to the long-term maintainability of Chromium on resource-constrained hardware.

Development and Feature Engineering

• Implement and enhance Chromium Web Engine features and optimizations based on architectural guidance.

Performance, Debugging and Stability

• Perform debugging, profiling and root-cause analysis of performance and stability issues.
• Fix identified issues across resource-constrained TV and embedded platforms.
• Validate fixes and optimizations to prevent functional, performance, and stability regressions.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• 4-10 years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on C++ development in system software, browser engines, embedded platforms or large-scale software codebases.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
