Job summary

ConsultBae India Private limited is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager/Lead in Research & Development to spearhead innovative post-harvest technologies and packaging solutions for fresh produce, supporting both domestic and global markets.

You will drive strategy, guide cross-functional teams in farming, procurement, operations, quality, packaging, and exports, and translate research into scalable, commercially viable solutions that enhance quality and reduce losses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Food science, SCM or related fields.
• 5-10 years of experience in Procurement, R&D or supply chain management within the Fresh produce, agriculture or food industry.
• Open to travel PAN India as per business requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design R&D Strategy & Framework for all products.
• Research global trends in fresh fruit consumption, varieties, and packaging. Introduce new varieties and value-added formats for export markets (US, Europe, Middle East).
• Document trials, results, and SOPs; identify new technologies, suppliers, and partners for continuous innovation and scale-up.
• R&D for – Shelf life improvement, reducing spoilage, controlling ripening, reducing the cost per unit, minimizing postharvest losses, improving production, packing, and logistics efficiency.
• Making Strategic Development in packaging that maintains freshness, controls moisture, reduces weight loss, and is sustainable and easy to handle during export.
• Must work on Sustainability & Environmental Impact & Innovation & Technology Adoption.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly driven and innovative Manager/ Senior Manager/Lead – Research & Development to lead strategic R&D initiatives across our fresh produce value chain. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation in post-harvest technologies, shelf-life enhancement, sustainable packaging, product development, and operational efficiency to strengthen our leadership in domestic and global markets.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in agriculture, food science, supply chain, and packaging innovation to identify emerging industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and develop scalable solutions that improve product quality, reduce post-harvest losses, optimize costs, and enhance customer experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams across farming, procurement, operations, quality, packaging, and exports, you will translate research into commercially viable solutions that support business growth, sustainability goals, and global expansion.
