Simisco Biologics Pvt. Ltd. in Kerala invites applications for Research Associate / Senior Research Associate – DSP to support antibody and protein purification and analytical characterization.

The role involves operating AKTA/FPLC, performing purification workflows and contributing to method development. The candidate should have an MSc in Life Sciences and at least 2 years of relevant R&D experience, with hands-on chromatography, SDS-PAGE and ELISA skills, plus strong documentation

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or Life Sciences.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant R&D experience; protein purification/analytical characterization preferred.
• Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography/FPLC systems, preferably AKTA.
• SDS-PAGE, Native PAGE and protein characterization techniques.
• Working knowledge of protein chemistry and antibody/protein biochemistry.
• Experience with digital documentation and/or LIMS.
• Desirable: Expi293/CHO or other mammalian expression systems.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, scientific documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform small- to mid-scale purification of antibodies and recombinant proteins using Protein A, Ni-NTA and related FPLC workflows.
• Operate and maintain AKTA/FPLC systems and execute affinity and size-exclusion chromatography workflows.
• Perform protein characterization and analytical testing including concentration/yield, SDS-PAGE, Native PAGE and SEC-HPLC.
• Support antibody/protein profiling using ELISA and other immunoassays.
• Contribute to analytical method development, process optimization and troubleshooting to improve purification efficiency.
• Maintain electronic lab records/LIMS and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate results and project updates.
• Maintain lab organization, equipment readiness, traceability, and compliance with procedures.
