Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a Research Associate in Drug Discovery to support laboratory experiments, data analysis, literature review, and scientific writing. The role involves mentoring interns and contributing to publications within biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and biomedical research projects.

The candidate will perform a range of assays, manage samples and data, and collaborate with a team to advance drug discovery and clinical research efforts.

Qualifications

• M.Pharm, Pharm.D, M.Sc. Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Prior research experience, dissertation work, internship experience, or publication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and advanced laboratory experiments according to approved protocols.
• Perform molecular biology, microbiology, biochemical, pharmaceutical, or biomedical assays.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, media, samples, and laboratory materials.
• Carry out techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis, ELISA, Western blotting, cell culture, protein assays, and sterile techniques when applicable.
• Collect, label, process, store, and document biological or research samples.
• Analyze experimental data and prepare technical summaries, reports, posters, and manuscripts.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, raw data files, sample inventories, and project documentation.
• Assist with protocol optimization, literature review, and scientific discussions.
• Mentor interns and junior laboratory staff as assigned.
