Job description
Job Opening

JRF position and Research Associate (RA) position in a DST-SERB funded CRG project on designing efficient electro-catalysts from studies of natural minerals in multidimensional hybrid systems using density functional theory (DFT).

Responsibilities
  • JRF: Perform density functional theory (DFT) studies to identify potential catalyst materials relevant for sustainable water-splitting (OER, HER) and CO2 reduction processes; understand reaction mechanisms on catalyst surfaces; collaborate with experimental scientists in the group; work on translational projects.
  • RA: Conduct DFT studies to identify catalyst materials for water-splitting and CO2 reduction; understand reaction mechanisms; collaborate with experimental team; have knowledge of DFT studies of small molecules to obtain structural and electronic properties; knowledge of molecular dynamics is advantageous.
Qualifications
  • JRF: M.Sc degree in Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science; may be enrolled into RISE PhD program in August session if meeting selection criteria.
  • RA: PhD in Computational Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science; experience in Linux HPC environments; proficiency with DFT programs (VASP, QuantumATK, Quantum Espresso, Gaussian); good communication and collaboration skills; prior screening of applicants based on experience and interviews.
Position Details
  • Fellowship: As per DST norms (DST-funded project).
  • Duration: Initially one year for RA; JRF position details as per project norms.
  • Remuneration (RA): Rs 58,000/- + HRA.
  • Project/Start Date: Immediate to as soon as possible; Conditions for extension depend on performance.
