Job Summary
The Category Lead for Retail Sales Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end performance and execution of Companys Cluster Sales & Operations. This role involves directly managing and mentoring the Cluster Sales & Operations Managers ( COMs ) to ensure they deliver on B2C revenue targets, maintain operational excellence, and drive profitability across all OPD clinics. The Category Lead acts as the central pivot, translating corporate strategy into actionable field execution and ensuring high standards of team management and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Revenue & P&L Ownership (B2C Focus)
- Target Setting: Define and enforce aggressive B2C revenue targets for all clusters across the core verticals: Pharmacy, Diagnostics, Consultations, and Surgery referrals.
- P&L Management: Own the aggregated, clinic-level Profit & Loss (P&L), holding COMs accountable for managing costs, efficiency, and revenue generation to achieve profitability.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and refine B2C sales methodologies for the COMs to maximize membership sales, service adoption, and cross-vertical conversion rates at the clinic level.
2. Leadership and Performance Management (COMs)
- Mentorship: Provide high-impact coaching and performance guidance to the Cluster Sales & Operations Managers (COMs) to elevate their leadership and operational capabilities.
- Accountability: Establish rigorous performance metrics for COMs, focusing on B2C revenue achievement, service excellence scores, clinic uptime, and team attendance compliance.
- Team Oversight: Ensure COMs effectively manage their teams, including Senior Clinical Staff, Generalist/Clinic Swasthya-Mitras (SMs), and Marketing Executives (MEs), to maintain a high-performing and motivated field workforce.
3. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Uptime and Attendance: Guarantee consistent clinic uptime and enforce strict attendance protocols for all clinic staff across the assigned clusters.
- Customer Satisfaction: Drive a culture of service excellence, ensuring COMs prioritize patient experience and achieve high customer satisfaction scores (CSAT/NPS).
- Tech Adoption: Mandate and monitor timely data reporting and technology adoption (e.g., EHR, CRM, inventory systems) by all COMs and clinic staff.
4. Cross-Functional and New Initiative Integration
- Category Liaison: Serve as the primary operational link between the COMs and central functional teams (e.g., Pharmacy, Diagnostics, and Surgery Category Heads) to ensure seamless stock fulfillment, booking support, and referral conversions.
- SM Onboarding & Performance: Oversee the COMs efforts in identifying and onboarding Swasthya Mitras (SMs), coordinating training, and managing productivity from Day 1 in collaboration with central functional leads.
- Health Camp Coordination: Work closely with the Camp Team (led by Sujita Mangal) and Circle Heads to align camp planning, ensure adequate clinic readiness, and enforce strict post-camp conversion metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field. MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in Retail Sales Operations, Multi-Unit Business Management, or Cluster Leadership, preferably in the Healthcare, Diagnostics, or high-volume Retail industry.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in directly managing and leading a team of mid-to-senior level managers (such as COMs or Area Managers).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a full P&L and drive B2C revenue streams across multiple verticals.
- Exceptional skills in strategic planning, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Proven track record in driving operational compliance and customer service quality across dispersed units.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in regional languages is highly advantageous.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned operational region.
