Saint Gobain in India seeks a Senior Refractory Engineer for third-party contract work. You will supervise refractory installation, relining, and repair activities on TLC-like equipment, ensuring drawings, BOM, and procedures are followed.

The role requires 25 years in refractory installation or maintenance in iron and steel industries, knowledge of lining drawings, installation methods, safety standards, and strong site supervision.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Ceramic, Refractory, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 25 years of experience in refractory installation or maintenance in the iron and steel industry.
• Knowledge of refractory lining drawings, BOM, installation methods, quality control, and site safety.

Responsabilités

• Supervise refractory installation, relining, and repair activities in TLCs.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, BOM, installation procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor brick laying, joint thickness, alignment, castable installation, gunning, and shotcreting activities.
• Manage site manpower, contractors, materials, tools, and installation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with customer EHS standards, permit-to-work systems, and safe working practices.
• Monitor refractory consumption, lining condition, wear patterns, and campaign life.
• Maintain daily progress reports, material consumption records, inspection checklists, and installation documentation.
• Coordinate with customer operations, maintenance, and the Application Manager for timely execution.
• Support troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and refractory performance improvement initiatives.
