Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls for retail operations.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex accounting issues.
  • Ensure GAAP/IFRS, SOX compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee end-to-end retail accounting processes including sales, inventory and COGS.
  • Review and approve high-risk or complex journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Lead internal and external audits and drive remediation of findings.

Operations is one of four services that make up one Accenture -the others are Strategy and Consulting, Interactive and Technology.You will be aligned with our Finance Operations vertical and will be helping us in determining financial outcomes by collecting operational data/reports, whilst conducting analysis and reconciling transactions.The Record to Report team helps clients and organizations in their operational efficiency and balance sheet integrity, cuts time to close and safeguards compliance with regulatory requirements. The areas where this team s expertise lies is in Preparing and posting journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month end closing, preparing reports and supports in audits, perform variance analysis and provide comments for month over month movement in Trial Balance, perform reporting activities, perform intercompany related activities, FA and Lease related activities. The Account Reconciliation team focuses on general ledger accounting which contains a summary of sub-ledger accounts. The role requires a good understanding of P&L accounts, bookkeeping, journal entries, voucher entry, trial balance, and month-end reporting. The role may also need expertise around intercompany reconciliations, cut-off policies, transfer pricing policies, formal confirmation policy & procedure, dispute resolution policy & procedure, and general procedure.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal control for retail operations.
  • Serve as key escalation point for complex accounting issues
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SOX and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee end-to-end retail accounting processed including sales, inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Review and approve high-risk or complex journal entries, reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of sales, inventory, cogs and other store expenses.
  • Lead internal and external audits related to retail accounting
  • Own remediation of audit findings and continuous improvement of controls
  • Assess and mitigate accounting and operational risks within retail process
  • Drive automation, standardization of accounting processes
  • You will typically be creating new solutions, leveraging and, where needed, adapting existing methods and procedures
  • The role requires a clear understanding of the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals
  • Proactive in resolving discrepancies and improving processes
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in this role, you need to analyze and solve moderately complex problems.
  • You will need to hold monthly meaningful conversations with team members to discuss performance, coaching and feedback, training needs, and career discussions
  • Coach team members and provide first-level guidance on procedures/methods.
  • You will need to monitor & drive team performance, including throughput and quality as per defined metrics
  • Your primary upward interaction is with a direct supervisor or team leads
  • You are required to understand the strategic direction set by senior management, clearly communicate team goals, deliverables, and keep the team updated on change
  • You will generally interact with peers and/or management levels with clients or internal stakeholders
  • You will be provided with minimal guidance when determining methods and procedures on new assignments
  • You would be managing medium-small sized teams and/or work efforts at a client or within Accenture.
