A major financial services corporation in Mumbai is seeking a Rec & Proofing Intermediate Analyst. The role involves daily reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements within accounting. Candidates should have 2-5 years of relevant experience, be knowledgeable about US GAAP, and hold a CPA or equivalent degree. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Daily reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub-ledger.
• Preparation of reconciliation package.
• Identify and clear accounting exceptions and mismatched items.
• Analyze recurring issues and assist in developing process improvements.
• Monitor status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Participate in and/or lead assigned projects.
• Respond to Balance Sheet Substantiation requests for information.
• Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Participate in and/or lead assigned projects.
• Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard Citi's reputation and assets, escalate and report control issues.

The Rec & Proofing Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role that deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices, and applies analytical thinking and data analysis tools and methodologies. The role requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on factual information, usually dealing with variable issues that may have broader business impact. The Analyst applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results, breaking down information systematically and communicating it effectively. Communication and diplomacy skills are essential to exchange complex or sensitive information with team members, management and business partners. The impact of the Analyst’s work is moderate but direct through close contact with the business’s core activities, and the quality and timeliness of service will affect the effectiveness of the team and other related teams.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience in accounting (experience in the financial services sector a plus)
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
• CPA or commensurate local accreditation
