Network Consultant
Responsibilities:
- Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
- Install, configure, maintain and upgrade network services, equipment, software and devices.
- Manage all back‐up and restore of equipment configuration.
- Plan and support network and computing infrastructure.
- Document network problems and resolution for future reference.
- Monitor network performance and implement performance tuning.
- Oversee software and network security.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor activities.
- Develop and document system standards for network and security devices.
- Recommend and schedule repairs to the LAN/WAN/Firewall/Cloud Proxy/F5.
- Coordinate with external parties and customers for problem resolution, including hardware fix and replacements.
- Handle 2nd / 3rd level escalation from Service Desk team.
- Troubleshoot network/security related problems to restore services to meet stated SLA/SLO.
- Assist in Problem Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity Management and Information Security Management.
- Be part of the 24×7 on‐call support rotation.
- Administer TACACS+.
- Administer Cisco Routers/switches, firewalls, SSLVPN, Zscaler Proxy and F5 load balancers.
- Conduct Security Infrastructure review and design.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
Good written and verbal English skills.
Preferred Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, ITIL.
At least 4 year(s) of experience in the following:
- Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Proxies, Load-balancer (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, MPLS, VPLS, VPN Velo Cloud SDWAN, Palo Alto & Zscaler).
- Experience in Velo-Cloud SDWAN.
- Experience in Palo Alto Firewall.
- Experience in Cloud Proxy- Zscaler- ZIA, ZPA and ZDX.
- Network monitoring (SolarWinds & SNOW).
- Handles highly confidential information/material.
- Ability to communicate orally and written in a professional manner.
- Prior experience supporting, implementing and/or administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Thorough knowledge of networking essentials.
- Experience in a data centre and/or vendor environment with frontend interaction with customers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally and writing basic documentation.
- Flexible, open-minded, self-motivated and reliable person.
- Able to work independently and handle stress.
- Willing to propose ways to improve efficiency.
