Record to Report (R2R) is a core finance process that involves recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements to present an accurate view of a companys financial performance. It ensures compliance, transparency, and supports decision-making.

A reconciliation account is a type of general ledger account that summarizes data from sub-ledgers (such as Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable). It does not contain direct transaction postings and is used to ensure consistency between sub-ledgers and the general ledger.
