Job summary

ABB Finance is seeking an experienced M&A CFIN Architect to lead the design, integration, and optimization of finance solutions within the Central Finance landscape. You will support new company codes, mergers, acquisitions, and divestments by ensuring efficient integration into the target CFIN architecture.

The role requires close collaboration with Finance, IS Architecture, M&A teams, and external vendors to ensure data consistency, process standardization, and compliance with ABB

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in finance, information systems, business administration, computer science or related field.
• 12-15+ years SAP Finance experience with SAP Central Finance and/or S/4HANA Finance.
• Strong R2R/GL/reconciliation expertise.
• Experience delivering complex M&A, divestment, or onboarding initiatives.
• Strong testing, data migration, reconciliation, cutover and stabilization experience.
• Proven experience leading architects or senior functional teams.
• Strong delivery management and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of R2R and M&A-related changes within CFIN from implementation through cutover and stabilization.
• Ensure delivery milestones, dependencies, risks and issues are actively managed and escalated.
• Lead R2R and M&A Solution Architect team and promote collaboration across workstreams.
• Lead CFIN delivery for acquisitions, divestments, onboarding or separation activities.
• Coordinate migration, mapping, reconciliation, testing, cutover and post-go-live activities.
• Ensure cross-functional dependencies with O2C, P2P, Treasury, Tax, MDG and technical teams are managed.
• Ensure solutions are fully tested, documented and operationally ready before deployment.
• Drive opportunities to improve automation and standardization across R2R and M&A activities.

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient M&A CFIN Architect to lead the design, integration, and optimization of finance solutions within the Central Finance (CFIN) landscape. This role is responsible for supporting any new company code, mergers, acquisitions, and divestments by ensuring that acquired entities are efficiently integrated into the target CFIN architecture in alignment with business objectives.

The CFIN M&A solution lead will assess the current-state finance and IT landscapes of acquired companies, define target-state architecture, and drive integration activities in CFIN system. The role requires close collaboration with Finance, IS Architecture, M&A integration teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless system integration, data consistency, process standardization, and compliance with ABB standards. The architect will also contribute to automation and optimization initiatives to improve testing automation and operational efficiency within the CFIN environment.

This role is contributing to the Finance Services business Finance Process Data Systems division in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Delivery Leadership - Lead end-to-end delivery of R2R and M&A-related changes within CFIN from implementation through cutover and stabilization, Ensure delivery milestones, dependencies, risks and issues are actively managed and escalated where required, Drive successful deployment while protecting financial close, reporting and system stability
• Team Leadership - Lead, mentor and develop the R2R and M&A Solution Architect team, Set clear priorities, accountabilities and delivery expectations across the team, Build strong functional capability and promote effective collaboration across workstreams
• M&A & Legal Entity Delivery - Lead CFIN delivery for acquisitions, divestments, company-code onboarding and separation activities, Coordinate migration, mapping, reconciliation, testing, cutover and post-go-live activities, Ensure cross-functional dependencies with O2C, P2P, Treasury, Tax, MDG and technical teams are managed effectively
• Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination - Work closely with Global Process Owners, Process Architects, M&A teams, Finance, MDG, technical teams and external partners, Ensure agreed designs and requirements are translated into executable delivery plans, Resolve delivery blockers and drive alignment across teams where ownership or dependencies span multiple areas
• Delivery Assurance & Operational Readiness - Ensure solutions are fully tested, documented and operationally ready before deployment, Validate that agreed controls, reconciliation requirements and business acceptance criteria are met, Lead resolution of critical delivery and production issues during cutover and stabilization
• Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, automation and standardization across R2R and M&A activities, Drive reusable approaches for testing, migration, onboarding and cutover, Use lessons learned from previous deployments to improve future delivery.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field
• 12-15+ years of SAP Finance experience with strong knowledge of SAP Central Finance and/or S/4HANA Finance
• Strong functional expertise in Record-to-Report, including General Ledger, close, reconciliation, intercompany and financial reporting
• Experience delivering complex M&A, divestment, legal-entity onboarding or Finance transformation initiatives
• Strong experience across testing, data migration, reconciliation, cutover and stabilization
• Proven experience leading Architects or senior functional teams
• Strong delivery management, stakeholder management and decision-making capability
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional dependencies and drive issues to resolution
• Strong communication skills with the ability to operate effectively across Finance, business, technical teams and external partners
• Strong focus on execution, operational stability and successful business outcomes
