Job summary

Elovate is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of software testing experience with strong automation skills, including Playwright, API testing, and CI/CD integration.

You will focus on robust test automation, extensive test coverage, defect prevention, and collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total software testing experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior role.
• Practical experience using AI-powered testing tools (e.g., Claude Code).
• Strong scripting skills in TypeScript.
• Proficiency in SQL for database testing.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to translate complex requirements into test scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or equivalent automation tools.
• Develop and enhance automation frameworks.
• Build and maintain API automation suites using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
• Create scalable, reusable automation solutions for smoke, regression, sanity, and end-to-end testing.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D Test Engineer II to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in manual and automated testing, test framework development, API validation, database testing, and CI/CD integration. The role focuses on ensuring product quality through robust test automation, comprehensive test coverage, defect prevention, and collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or equivalent automation tools.
• Develop and enhance automation frameworks.
• Build and maintain API automation suites using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
• Create scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation solutions for smoke, regression, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
• Continuously improve automation coverage and execution efficiency.

Functional & System Testing

• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs.
• Design, review, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing support.
• Validate application behavior across multiple browsers and environments.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution.
• Create scalable, maintainable automation suites for regression, smoke, sanity, and CI-driven pipelines.

Execution, Reporting & DevOps Integration

• Execute automated suites, analyze results, and generate detailed reports (TestNG, Extent Reports, Allure Reports).
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Collaborate with developers to triage defects and reproduce issues quickly.

Quality

• Drive quality strategy for assigned modules or products.
• Partner with product owners and developers to ensure complete requirement coverage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of total software testing experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior role.
• AI Knowledge: Practical experience using AI-powered testing tools (e.g., Claude Code).
• Programming: Strong scripting skills in TypeScript.
• Databases: Proficiency in SQL for database testing.
• Methodologies: Understanding of Agile/Scrum.
• Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, ability to translate complex requirements into test scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in enterprise web application testing.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.
• Experience with CI/CD environments.
• Knowledge of performance, security, or accessibility testing is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
