Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Service Development Team Lead for the India Development Center in Chennai. You will guide the development, maintenance, and operation of digital service solutions focused on asset reliability, predictive analytics, digital twins, and lifecycle intelligence.

You will lead a team, recruit and mentor talent, and ensure on-time delivery across development, testing, release, and operations in a global context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• At least 8 years of software engineering or cloud delivery experience
• 3+ years of team leadership experience
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD environments
• Experience with Azure cloud-native architectures and digital product lifecycles
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, software quality, verification, validation, and governance
• Experience with digital twins, asset reliability, and industrial IoT
• Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the India Development Center team delivering digital service solutions.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain talent; build capabilities and succession plans.
• Ensure predictable execution of roadmap commitments across dev, test, release, maintenance, and operations.
• Manage delivery risks, dependencies, priorities, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
• Provide technical direction aligned with architecture, quality, security, and operations.

The role combines people leadership, delivery execution, technical coordination, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with product owners, solution architects, quality leaders, operations, and global technology leadership. Your background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, digital products, or cloud solution delivery, including at least 3 years leading teams.
• Strong understanding of research and development processes, software engineering practices, and continuous improvement methods.
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration and continuous delivery environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native architectures, digital product lifecycles, software development, and deployment.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, software quality, verification, validation, and lifecycle governance.
• Experience with digital twins, asset reliability, asset management, industrial Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, analytics, or data engineering.
• Strong people leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, communication, analytical thinking, customer focus, and ability to balance strategy with operational execution.
