Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Vadodara, India, is seeking a Mechanical Simulation Engineer to join its R&D team. The role centers on FEM simulations to validate bushings and insulation products within the Global Product Group, supporting the launch of new platforms and strengthening competitive edge.

You will use ANSYS or COMSOL, perform linear and nonlinear static, dynamic and transient analyses, and collaborate with global R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with strong FEA knowledge.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in product validation via mechanical simulations.
• Proficient in ANSYS or COMSOL for FEM simulations.
• Experience in linear/nonlinear static, dynamic, and transient analyses.
• Knowledge of isotropic and orthotropic material properties, elastoplastic analysis.
• Experience with C++, Python, Java.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical simulations using FEA in ANSYS and/or COMSOL to validate bushing design
• Iteratively analyze FEA controls and process parameters to improve accuracy of simulation results
• Support engineering teams and bushing manufacturing units to simulate product operations and testing
• Provide solutions to R&D and engineering teams based on results of design validation and product evaluation
• Use object-oriented programming and application builder in FEA software to make digitalized product platform
• Use design and simulation parameters in CAD and FEA software respectively to develop customization toolkit
• Prepare comprehensive simulation reports to communicate FEA results and evaluation with internal customers
• Coordinate with global R&D teams to work for innovation programs, trainings, and knowledge sharing sessions

Bushing R&D team in India is a multifaceted and diversified team of engineers who play a pivotal role in developing channels to integrate new solutions, technologies, and materials into our product portfolio. The team holds strong competencies in project management, product design, FEM simulations, high-voltage testing, and supply chain management. FEM simulation is an integral part of design validation and product evaluation. A mechanical engineer who has strong knowledge of advanced FEA and significant working experience with commercial FEM software would be an ideal candidate for this role. The position offers relocation based on candidate’s eligibility.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Perform mechanical simulations using FEA in ANSYS and/or COMSOL to validate bushing design

Your background

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering along with a strong subject knowledge of FEA


• 5+ years of industrial experience in product validation by performing mechanical simulations using FEA


• High level proficiency of using mechanical module in commercial FEA software, either ANSYS or COMSOL


• Strong working experience of performing linear and nonlinear static, dynamic, and transient analyses


• Knowledge of isotropic and orthotropic material properties, failure theories, elastoplastic analysis,


• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages like C++, Python, Java etc.


• Proficiency in both spoken and written English language
