Job summary

Fairmate Chemicals seeks a Chemistry R&D Specialist to develop and improve formulations for construction chemical products, and to conduct lab trials from lab to pilot scale. You will evaluate raw materials, support scale-up, and troubleshoot manufacturing performance issues.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, safety, and ISO standards, maintain documentation, and stay updated on new materials and technologies in the construction chemicals industry.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Chemistry or related field.
• B.Tech or MTech in Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in R&D or product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve formulations for construction chemical products.
• Conduct laboratory trials for new product development and improvement.
• Test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Evaluate and approve alternative raw materials for cost optimization and performance.
• Prepare and maintain formulation sheets, trial reports, test reports, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Production and QC for pilot batches and production trials.
• Troubleshoot product-related and manufacturing issues.
• Conduct stability studies and performance evaluations.
• Assist the technical team in resolving customer complaints and product performance issues.
• Keep updated with new raw materials, technologies, market trends in construction chemicals.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with quality, safety, and ISO standards.
• Assist in scale-up from laboratory to commercial production.

Job description

Develop and improve construction chemical formulations, conduct laboratory and pilot trials, evaluate raw materials, support commercial scale-up, and troubleshoot product and manufacturing performance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve formulations for construction chemical products such as waterproofing products, tile adhesives, concrete admixtures, epoxy, grouts, sealants, repair products, and other specialty chemicals.
• Conduct laboratory trials for new product development and existing product improvement.
• Perform testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Evaluate and approve alternative raw materials for cost optimization and product performance.
• Prepare and maintain formulation sheets, trial reports, test reports, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with the Production and QC departments for pilot batches and commercial production trials.
• Troubleshoot product-related and manufacturing issues and provide technical solutions.
• Conduct stability studies, compatibility testing, and performance evaluations.
• Support the technical team in resolving customer complaints and product performance issues.
• Keep updated with new raw materials, technologies, market trends, and developments in the construction chemicals industry.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with quality, safety, and ISO standards.
• Assist in the scale-up of newly developed products from the laboratory to commercial production.

Preferred Qualification

B.Sc. / M.Sc. Chemistry, B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, or any other relevant qualification in Chemistry / Chemical Technology.
