Job summary

Honeywell India Technology Center in Gurugram is seeking an R&D Scientist I to own the Elemental Analytical Laboratory and manage its day-to-day operations. The role involves hands-on analysis using ICP OES, ICP MS, WD-XRF, and combustion ion chromatography, with data entry into LIMS and collaboration across R&D teams.

The ideal candidate has MSc in Analytical/ Inorganic Chemistry with 3–4 years of refinery/petrochemicals exposure, strong MS Word/Excel skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• MSc in Analytical/ Inorganic Chemistry from a reputed university.
• 3-4 years’ experience in Refinery / Petrochemicals is advantageous.
• Computer literate - including MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently, and in team environments.

Responsibilities

• Hands on operation, analysis, calibration & accurate elemental value determination using ICP OES, ICP MS, WD XRF; maintain inventory & provide basic troubleshooting.
• Collect, organize, and interpret data from instruments & enter results into LIMS.
• Interact with R&D and Pilot Plant staff to analyze and characterize materials for Honeywell Technology.
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies and procedures; adopt HSE requirements for safe laboratory operations.
• Communicate with instrument vendors & keep abreast of new analytical method/technique on elemental chemistry.
• Recommend and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Occasional lifting and moving of bags, samples, up to 10 pounds when required.

Role Scope

The role involves working in a highly dynamic environment to characterize and evaluate complex molecules using a broad range of analytical instruments.

Schedule Expectations

The successful candidate must be flexible to work in shifts and, when required, on weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Hands on operation, analysis, calibration & accurate elemental value determination using ICP OES, ICP MS , WD XRF, Combustion ion Chromatography. Maintain inventory & provide basic troubleshooting for these instruments.
