Job summary

QpiAI in Bengaluru seeks a Quantum Design Engineer to lead the design of multi-qubit superconducting circuits and next-generation quantum processors. You will design and verify superconducting microwave circuits, collaborate with the nanofabrication team, and help push envelope on gate and readout fidelities while pursuing patentable innovations.

Qualifications

• MSc/MTech/PhD in physics, electrical engineering or related field with quantum focus.
• Experience in design of quantum circuits and GDS tapeout using HFSS or ADS Quantum Pro and simulation.
• Expertise in circuit architecture to improve gate/readout performance.
• Knowledge of circuit QED and superconducting qubits; error-correction schemes preferred.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals in quantum technology.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantum Chip Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantum chip design with a particular focus on superconducting microwave circuits used to couple qubits and readouts. The role encompasses designing multi-qubit circuits for fabrication and developing next-generation quantum processors with improved gate and measurement fidelities. This role involves working closely with our nanofabrication team to develop novel superconducting qubit architectures and filing patents.

Requirements

• MSc/M.Tech/PhD Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on quantum mechanics or quantum technology.
• Experience with design of quantum circuits and gds tapeout using custom tools or commercial software (HFSS, ADS Quantum Pro) and simulation.
• Expertise in developing circuit architecture to improve the performance of gates and readout
• Knowledge and strong understanding of circuit QED, and error‑correction schemes preferably in superconducting qubits.
• Proven track record of successful projects and publications in peer‑reviewed journals in the field of quantum technology.
• Experience with data analysis software and programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Experience in writing analysis reports to help the definition of DOE and improvement plan for experimentation plan is a plus.
• Good problem‑solving and communication skills.
