Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Quality Assurance supervisor to lead the QA function at the Chennai plant in Kancheepuram, India. The role focuses on establishing QA systems, defining inspection methods, and supporting engineering reviews for quality improvements.

You will oversee training, corrective actions, and collaboration across departments to ensure manufacturing excellence and compliance with ISO standards.

Qualifications

  • BE degree in Mechanical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering; 10+ years QA experience.
  • English fluency, both written and spoken.
  • ISO 9001,14001,45001 lead auditor experience or exposure.
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain QA systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Define inspection and testing methods to evaluate precision and reliability.
  • Review designs to integrate quality requirements.
  • Support production teams by analysing quality challenges.
  • Supervise and develop personnel to run the quality function.

The Quality Assurance supervisor develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems to ensure product reliability and compliance with company standards. This role defines inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality benchmarks, while contributing to engineering design reviews and supporting product data analysis. You will lead a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence in quality systems. Will support and meet the objectives and goals of Quality Engineering and the Oragadam Facility. Provide training and leadership for Corrective Action Teams and Work Groups. Maintain IMS Quality Systems and requirements. Provide the liaison between Quality Engineering and other departments in support of quality and manufacturing initiatives. This is a leadership position to include resolution of ETO panel quality issues, data support, correction and corrective action. Ensure Good through familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct. You will report to QUALITY AND PROJECT TRANSFER MANAGER. You will work in Onsite work mode based in our Chennai plant in Kancheepuram, India

Your Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Define inspection and testing methods to evaluate precision, accuracy, and reliability of products.
  • Review engineering designs to integrate quality requirements and considerations.
  • Support product teams by gathering and analysing production & quality-related challenges.
  • Supervise and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the quality function.
  • Provide direction to employees in line with company policies and objectives.
  • Act as advisor to the team, actively engaging to meet schedules and resolve problems.
  • Build productive internal and external working relationships through collaboration and presentations.
  • Drive Quality improvements continually to achieve manufacturing quality KPI target.
  • Manage Customer and third-party audits.
  • Problem solving (root cause failure analysis) and taking corrective action to Operational challenges.
  • Analyze field return information for areas of quality improvement if needed.
  • Provide Quality Engineering technical evaluation with Design of Experiments and Process Capability studies.
  • Take the role of quality continuous improvement & process excellence.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (state regulations, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • B.E – Mechanical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Command of the English Language – Oral and written.
  • ISO 9001,14001,45001 – Lead auditor, Exposure on Lean / Six Sigma.
