Job summary

ABB is seeking a seasoned Quality Lead to drive the quality strategy for its Nashik-based Distribution Solutions unit in India. You will lead quality culture, systems, tools, and teams to meet customer expectations and sustain operations.

You will coordinate local functions, implement short- to long-term quality plans, manage CAPA and audits, and ensure compliance with certification requirements across the organization. Strong leadership and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (full-time)
• 8–14 years of experience in In-process Quality and Customer Complaint of MV Switchgear
• Expertise in CAPA, Process Audits, Lean Six Sigma, QA processes, documentation, and standardization
• Strong leadership and communication with customers and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Influence and consult with ABB unit management to shape design and development of your functional area
• Ensure internal and external communication relevant to quality management system
• Implement short, medium, and long-term strategy to develop the quality management system based on risks and opportunities

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploy and lead the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will drive the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance and ensuring that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization.

Role Details

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution at Nashik, India.

You will be mainly accountable for

• Influencing and consulting with management within the local ABB unit to innovatively shape the design and development of your functional area to improve the organization’s overall performance.
• Ensuring appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management system.
• Implementing short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and planning to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team.
• Establishing a closed-loop quality cycle from product development to customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.

Qualifications For The Role

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (should be full-time)
• Minimum 8 to 14 years of experience in In-process Quality and Customer Complaint of MV Switchgear (Indoor or Outdoor Circuit Breakers / AIS / GIS)
• Proven expertise in CAPA, Process Audits, Lean Six Sigma, QA processes, documentation, and standardization.
• Demonstrated leadership in enhancing product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction
• Strong communication skills with customers and stakeholders, ensuring effective complaint resolution and collaboration.
