A construction firm in Mumbai is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Manager to ensure compliance with quality standards in high-rise residential projects. Responsibilities include developing quality plans, supervising inspections, and leading the QA/QC team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards through effective planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. He will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive quality improvements throughout the organization.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure construction works in high-rise residential projects meet approved standards, specifications, and statutory requirements.
Role & responsibilities
1. Quality Planning & Control
Develop project-specific Quality Management Plan (QMP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements for high-rise works.
Define quality benchmarks for Mivan/Aluform shuttering, concrete works, masonry, finishes, and MEP coordination.
2. Inspection & Testing
Supervise daily inspections of formwork, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, and finishing works.
Verify material test reports for concrete, steel, aggregates, blocks, and waterproofing materials.
Coordinate third-party laboratory testing and maintain compliance with IS Codes.
3. Material & Vendor Quality Assurance
Approve materials and vendors based on quality standards.
Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to avoid damage or deterioration.
4. Team Leadership & Training
Lead the site QA/QC team and guide engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors on quality procedures.
Conduct toolbox talks and quality awareness training sessions.
5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
Identify Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track timely closure.
Implement preventive measures to avoid recurring quality issues.
6. Client & Consultant Coordination
Facilitate inspections with consultants and clients for work approvals.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
7. HSE & Compliance
Ensure quality activities are carried out without compromising safety.
Maintain adherence to building codes, municipal regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Preferred candidate profile
.Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech in Construction Management/Quality preferred).
.Experience: 8 to 12 years in QA/QC, with minimum 5 years in high-rise residential projects (Mivan/Aluform experience mandatory).
.Strong knowledge of IS Codes, quality control processes, and construction materials testing.
.Proven expertise in formwork, concrete quality control, waterproofing, and finishing works.
.Familiarity with third-party lab testing and vendor approval processes.
.Excellent leadership skills to manage QA/QC teams and coordinate with consultants/clients.
.Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, MS Office, and AutoCAD.
.Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
.Ability to ensure zero rework through preventive and corrective actions.
