Job summary

Cummins India in Pune is seeking a Quality Inspector to assist in final product verification on the production line, compare components to specifications, and document deviations using the company systems. You will work with measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges and torque wrenches, and ensure adherence to established quality standards.

Minimal or no prior work experience is required; a high school diploma or equivalent may be sufficient, with licensing

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Assists with verification of the final quality of products on the production line. Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Separates products that do not have the desired technical specification, using basic measurement techniques and equipment. Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems. Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the company.

  • Strong knowledge of engine assembly processes and engine components.
  • Understanding of quality systems and quality control procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of assembly tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard measuring instruments and inspection equipment (e. g. , vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge, torque wrench).
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and ensure adherence to quality standards.
