Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in design engineering, product quality, manufacturing quality in electrical domain.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical harness prints/schematics, BOM, NPI, change management, APQP/PPAP, DFMEA; experience with analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Govern quality performance across DFM, events, engineering deviations, and CPI; coordinate with teams to close actions.
  • Analyze field issues and warranty trends; lead corrective and preventive actions to achieve DPU targets.
  • Develop and publish quality dashboards and BIQ checklists; drive defect reduction and process adherence.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support, and Operations to improve quality performance.

Overview

The Quality Engineer – Electrical systems Integration Design engineering is responsible for governing product and process quality performance, analysing quality data, and leading continuous improvement initiatives for Electrical systems integration for mining trucks. This role serves as the focal point for Electrical design engineering quality performance across facilities, also ensuring effective execution of quality issue resolution processes. The incumbent will monitor defect/warranty spent trends, identify design & process gaps and drive actions with cross functional teams to achieve DPU targets by improving overall design and manufacturing quality.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include :

Govern quality performance by driving governance across DFM, all quality events, Engineering Deviations, and CPI (ICA/PCA) ensuring timely, effective, and sustainable closure of quality actions by coordinating with Team Leads and Design Engineers Analyze field issues and warranty trends to identify top defects and Lead corrective and preventive actions to achieve DPU targets. Translate customer pain points into engineering and manufacturing quality actions. Review defects for Missed/Found/New classifications, monitor defect trends and facilitate process corrective actions for recurring or high-impact defects. Develop, maintain, and improve Electrical Install Standard & BIQ checklists and standard work procedures/guides. Develop and publish quality dashboards providing visibility to quality event status, DPU performance, defect trend analysis, and process adherence metrics like APQP and End-to-End BIQ compliance. Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, and digital tools supporting quality initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support, and Operations to drive defect reduction, process improvements, and overall quality performance. Pay attention to quality events in the factory, participate in RCCA of issues with cross-functional teams as required Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality in all activities. Demonstrates a strong commitment to follow established processes and employs a systematic approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or related Curriculum
  • Previous experience in design engineering, product quality, manufacturing quality in electrical domain
  • Good understanding of Engineering Drawing, Electrical Harness Print/Schematics reading , Bill of material and NPI process, Change management process, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA Experience with Power BI, Azure DevOps, reporting tools, and data analytics.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-driven with a strong learning mindset and ability to work independently.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Knowledge of design for manufacturability guidelines, methodologies, and use cases; ability to use this knowledge to optimize product designs and manufacturing operations.
  • Engineering - MFG: Basic Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of electrical & electronics components in a manufacturing environment; Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of product design & manufacturing
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Top candidates will also have:
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems used in heavy equipment applications.
  • Experience leading quality improvement or cross-functional projects.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification or equivalent problem-solving experience.
  • Familiarity with Creo, Teamcenter, and product development processes.
  • Experience in defect analytics, quality governance, and continuous improvement methodologies.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
