Job summary

Intact India is seeking a QA Automation Engineer in Gurugram to design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web and API apps. You will participate in planning, testing strategy, and release activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive quality from early SDLC stages.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in QE/test automation, strong fundamentals, and familiarity with CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science.
• 3–5 years of hands on experience in QE /test automation.
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, test design techniques, and SDLC/STLC.
• Experience testing web applications and APIs (REST, JSON, Postman, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Genuine interest and willingness to explore AI powered testing tools and approaches.
• Exposure to or curiosity about tools such as self healing automation, AI based test generation, visual testing, or intelligent test analytics.
• Growth mindset with a passion for innovation in quality engineering.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to AI-powered testing tools or platforms.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of performance testing basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute and maintain manual and automated test frameworks for web and API applications.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, and release activities.
• Execute and enhance functional, regression, integration, and smoke tests.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements and define test strategies early in the SDLC.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML based testing tools to improve test coverage, defect detection, and execution efficiency.
• Research, pilot, and help implement AI driven testing solutions such as self healing tests, intelligent test generation, and predictive analytics.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and clearly document defects with actionable insights.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
• Promote quality, best practices and continuous improvement within the QE team.
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging trends in AI, automation, and quality engineering.
