Job summary

Accenture in Chennai seeks a Quality Engineer to enable full stack solutions through multi-disciplinary collaboration, drive quality across the lifecycle, and perform continuous testing for security, API, and regression suites.

You will create automation strategies, scripts, and support data and environment configuration, while participating in code reviews and defect reporting to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or comparable qualifications/experience.
• Proven work experience in software development or in software quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans, test cases and defect descriptions.
• ISTQB or related certification is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases to identify software problems.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products.
• Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software.
• Work together with software developers to enhance and improve software.
• Track quality assurance metrics like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Summary

Software Quality Engineers design, create, implement, and monitor processes that ensure that the final product satisfies end users needs and requirements, while also making sure no other influence will cause the product to malfunction. Being able to fully understand what project managers and product owners expect, and to imagine what end users need and how they will interact with the product are just some of the points that a Soft-ware Quality Engineer has to be able to fulfil. Clear and precise communications enable a Quality Assurance Engineer to address identified problems quickly to relevant partners in other teams and make a valuable contribution to improving the overall product quality.
