Job summary

SKF Group is looking for a Quality, EHS & Operations Excellence Manager to oversee the management of Quality and Environmental Health and Safety standards. This role is pivotal in performing duties such as monitoring KPIs, conducting audits, and driving training initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in safety and quality, with proven experience in implementing Lean methodologies.

The position is located in Pune, India. This is an individual contributor role aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance with internal quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum professional experience of 5-7 years with major experience in Quality, EHS & Operations Management.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or 5S.

  • Monitor and report Quality, Safety, Environment and Energy KPIs.

Job description

Position Title: Quality, EHS & Operations Excellence (SKF Production System (SPS)) Manager

Reports To: Head of REP Mechanical Contracts Execution – India

Role Type: Individual Contribution

Location: Pune

Job Responsibilities
  • Performance Management & Reporting (QEHS + SPS Daily Management)
  • Monitor and report Quality, Safety, Environment and Energy KPIs, including number of complaints justified, CoNQ, recordable accidents, first aid, near misses, unsafe conditions/behaviors and energy/environmental metrics.
  • Provide integrated visibility on operational risks, customer impact and performance trends.
  • Embed reporting into SPS Daily Management (level meetings, KPI boards, escalation routines).
  • Support weekly pulse reviews with data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Governance & Management Systems (Integrated QMS + EHS + SPS)
  • Establish, implement and maintain SKF EHS and SKF Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Ensure alignment with company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Drive management reviews, compliance tracking and system effectiveness.
  • Integrate SPS governance through standard work, process discipline and daily accountability.
  • Audit, Compliance & Assurance
  • Conduct internal Quality and EHS audits and coordinate external audits (ISO, regulatory, customer).
  • Ensure timely closure of non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Understanding Machine Safety and “Investment-Ready” Concept and support machine safety initiatives wherever applicable
  • Apply SPS principles to validate process adherence and sustain improvements
  • Lead integrated risk management covering Quality, Safety, Environment and Energy risks (RA, JSA, MOC, machine safety)
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA and incident investigations.
  • Embed SPS problem solving methods such as A3 and Lean tools
  • Ensure elimination of recurrence and reduction of operational risks.
  • Training, Awareness & Competency Development
  • Deliver training on Quality tools, EHS practices and risk awareness.
  • Build competencies in problem solving, Six Sigma, standard work and risk management.
  • Support SPS capability building through skill matrix and coaching.
  • Drive behavioral change towards proactive quality ownership and safety culture.
  • SPS (Operational Excellence) Deployment
  • Drive Businesses Excellence & SKF Production System, methods like Lean, TPM & 5S at full level & support implementation to achieve targeted objectives of PQCDSM.
  • Lead and drive organization-wide deployment of core SPS tools and methods, including:
  • Daily Management systems & Hoshin Kanri (X matrix)
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • 5S & Visual Management
  • Problem Solving (A3 / RCA)
  • Built-in Quality / Zero Defect mindset
  • Autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance
  • Competence management and skill development
  • Drive alignment of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Working Climate, Environment priorities within operations.
  • Communicate effectively, engage people and manage support structures to enable Business Excellence deployment.
  • Build SPS capability across all organizational levels through structured training, coaching and competence development, enabling teams to deploy and sustain SPS practices independently.
  • Support SPS maturity assessments and continuous improvement roadmap execution.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement & Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, sales units and factories through periodic pulse meetings
  • Act as QEHS focal point and customer interface for quality-related issues.
  • Drive SPS alignment across functions with end-to-end value stream focus.
  • Support resolution of customer complaints and operational issues.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence (SPS-driven)
  • Lead improvement initiatives integrating Quality, Safety, Environment and Energy.
  • Apply SPS methodologies including A3, Lean and waste elimination (as mentioned above)
  • Drive efficiency, productivity and sustainability improvements.
  • Promote best practice sharing and benchmarking across sites.
  • Change Management & Business Integration
  • Integrate QEHS requirements into Management of Change (MOC), projects and operations.
  • Ensure risk-based decision-making and safe implementation of changes.
  • Embed SPS into all processes and workflows.
  • Align QEHS and SPS initiatives with business objectives and customer expectations.
