Job summary

Rockwell Automation in India is hiring a Quality Inspector to ensure all aspects of quality control are integrated into production. The role is onsite in Kancheepuram and reports to the Quality Team Lead.

You will oversee inspections of raw materials and assemblies, calibrate instruments, manage CAPA, participate in MSA/CPK studies, support PPAP with vendors, and collaborate with production to meet daily plans while complying with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Travel 20-30% may be required.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics.
• Willing to travel 20-30% within India.
• Preference for Sheet Metal Fabrication experience and ISO documentation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality control across production processes and inspection activities.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections following SOPs and current drawings.
• Maintain calibration of measurement instruments across the factory.
• Handle CAPA for customer complaints and supplier/vendor quality issues.
• Support MSA, CPK studies and PPAP approvals with vendors.
• Assist in meeting daily operations and production/delivery plans.

Job Description

The responsibility is to make sure all aspects of quality control are taken care of. We build making the right quality into the production processes and control, and Production manufactures the right quality. It is the Quality Inspector responsibility to develop the system that makes it possible for Production to manufacture the right quality. This is an onsite role based in Kancheepuram, reporting to Quality Team lead.

Your Responsibilities:

• Knowledge in Engineering Drawings and Layout Inspection of Parts
• Hands-on experience on handling ISO Documentation and updating of Reports
• Maintain Instruments Calibration across the factory
• To conduct Patrol In Process Inspection and ensure that we follow Standard Operating Procedure with our current revision drawings only used.
• Receive Inspection of Raw Material Sheets, Coil, Sheet Metal Parts, Plastic Parts
• Conduct Final Inspection of Assembly Panel, Verification of Kitting Parts, Ensuring Packing standard in followed
• Handle Supplier and resolving Vendor related materials quality issues raised In process
• Handle Customer Complaints and provide CAPA to Customer
• Handling In process issues jointly with Production team and providing CAPA
• Conducting MSA, CPK Study
• New Vendor Qualification, Existing Vendor evaluation
• New Product Development and PPAP Approval of Parts from Vendor
• Assist the Manager in meeting daily operations and the Production and Delivery plan.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• B.E or Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics
• The ability to travel 20-30% of the time (within India)

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 2 years' experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication process
• Experience in New Product Development and ISO Documentation
• Having an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and Six Sigma Certification will add an advantage.
