Job summary

Bhalaria Metal Craft is seeking a hands-on QC Engineer/Senior Inspector to own the plant's QC function in the Umargaon/Sarigam belt. You will build and implement inspection formats, sampling plans, and rejection analysis on incoming, in-process, and final stages.

Role requires 3+ years of hands-on QC in sheet metal or metalware manufacturing, with proficiency in vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Based in or near Umargaon preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on QC experience in sheet metal or metalware manufacturing.
• 3+ years in a QC role, on the shop floor, with the ability to own QC processes.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and standard QC formats.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 guidelines and CAPA is advantageous.

• QC System Building: design inspection checklists, SOPs, and sampling plans.
• Incoming Inspection: verify coils/sheets for thickness, grade, and surface quality.
• In-Process QC: approve first-piece setups and inspect drawing, stamping, trimming, and welding.
• Final Product Inspection: assess finishes, bottom flatness, handle strength, and leaks.
• Defect Handling: isolate non-conforming batches and drive root-cause analysis with production.
• Record Keeping: maintain daily logs and samples per ISO 9001.

Reports to: Plant Head / Director

Experience: 3–6 years hands-on QC in sheet metal or equivalent quality control department

Industry: Cookware & Kitchenware Manufacturing

ROLE OVERVIEW

Own day-to-day quality control on the shop floor — incoming material, in-process press operations, and final product — and build Bhalaria's QC system from the ground up: inspection formats, SOPs, sampling plans, and rejection analysis. This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role, not a supervisory desk role. You will personally measure, inspect, approve, and document.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

• You are currently a QC Engineer / Senior QC Inspector reporting to a QC Manager or Plant Head or are heading the QC department— and ready to step up and own a plant's QC function end-to-end.


• You have personally done first-piece approvals, instrument measurements, and rejection reports — not only reviewed your team's work.


• You have worked inside a structured QC system (formats, registers, AQL sampling, CAPA) and can replicate and improve it here.


• You live in or near Umargaon, or can relocate to the area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• QC System Building: Design and implement inspection checklists, SOPs, AQL sampling plans, and daily QC reporting formats covering incoming, in-process, and final stages.


• Incoming Inspection: Check stainless steel coils/sheets (SS 304, 430, Tri-ply) for thickness, grade accuracy, and surface quality.


• In-Process QC: Conduct first-piece setup approvals and inspect deep drawing, stamping, trimming, and welding operations to catch cracks, thinning, or misalignment early.


• Final Product Inspection: Inspect mirror/satin polish finishes, check bottom flatness (for induction use), test handle strength, and run leak checks.


• Defect Handling: Isolate non-conforming batches, write daily rejection reports, and drive root-cause analysis (CAPA) with production teams to reduce scrap.


• Record Keeping: Maintain daily inspection logs and perform final batch sampling (AQL) under ISO 9001 guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy Engineering preferred


• Experience: Minimum 3 years hands-on QC in ideally sheet metal, stainless steel cookware, or metalware manufacturing or any other equivalent industry


• Current level: QC Engineer / Senior Inspector level, reporting to a QC Manager or Plant Head (not currently heading a plant or department).


• Skills: Proficiency with vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges; clear understanding of deep drawing processes, sheet metal defects, and surface finish evaluation.


• Location: Based in or near Umargaon preferred.
