Job summary

DentalKart in Delhi NCR is seeking an Automation Test Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications, APIs, and e-commerce workflows.

You will work with developers, product managers, and QA to improve product quality, reduce manual regression, and enable faster, more reliable releases through CI/CD integration and cross-browser testing.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Software Testing.
• Experience with automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Python.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright API.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods and status codes.
• Experience with test frameworks and concepts such as Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing.
• Understanding of Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
• Experience with Jira and basic SQL for data validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications.
• Automate critical e-commerce journeys including Login, Search, Product Listing, Product Detail, Cart, Checkout, Payments, Orders, Returns and Refunds.
• Perform API automation testing for backend services and third-party integrations.
• Build and maintain automated Regression, Smoke and Sanity Test Suites.
• Integrate automation test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Create reusable test utilities, test data, and automation components.
• Perform cross-browser and responsive testing where required.
• Track defects and ensure proper documentation, prioritization, and closure.
• Improve automation coverage and continuously identify test cases that can be moved from manual to automated testing.
• Generate clear automated test reports and provide release-quality visibility to the Product and Engineering teams.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer who can build and maintain automated testing frameworks for our web applications, APIs, and critical e-commerce workflows.

The candidate will work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members to improve product quality, reduce manual regression effort, and enable faster and more reliable releases.

Required Technical Skills

• 2–5 years of experience in Software Testing with strong exposure to Automation Testing.
  
• Hands-on experience with one or more automation tools/frameworks:
  
  • Playwright – preferred
    
  • Selenium

• Good programming/scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Python.
  
• Experience with API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API or similar.
  
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods and status codes.
  
• Experience with test frameworks and concepts such as Page Object Model (POM), data-driven testing and reusable test components.
  
• Understanding of Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar.
  
• Experience with bug tracking/project management tools such as Jira.
  
• Good understanding of SQL and ability to perform basic database validation.
  

Good to Have

• Previous experience testing e-commerce or high-traffic transactional platforms.
  
• Experience with payment gateway testing.
  
• Experience with mobile application automation using Appium.
  
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
  
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS.
  
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
  
• Experience testing integrations with ERP, CRM, logistics, payment gateways or other third-party systems.

We are looking for someone who does more than simply execute test cases. The candidate should be able to identify high-risk customer journeys, determine what should be automated, build reliable automation suites, and help the engineering team catch issues before they reach production.
