BMC is looking for a talented QA Automation Engineer to join our team, working on complex and distributed software, developing automated tests, executing test plans, and assuring product quality.

How you will contribute through this role:

• Analyze design, determine test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities based on objectives and project guidelines.
• Execute and write portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify and debug code issues and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate and communicate with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software design, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Resolve technical issues and explore alternative design solutions as required.
• Participate as a team member and foster teamwork through inter-group coordination.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills and experience required:

• 4-6 years of experience in software development test engineering (SDET) in an Agile environment.
• 4+ years in software development and testing for large enterprise products.
• 4+ years of experience developing automated tests in Python, Java (e.g., Selenium, Protractor) using Robot or similar frameworks.

Technical skills:

• Excellent Java programming skills with understanding of OOPS concepts.
• Ability to write efficient, reusable, and modifiable code.
• Strong testing and debugging skills in IDEs like Eclipse.
• Good knowledge of Selenium and other API frameworks in Java or Python.
• Ability to implement design patterns in test automation and analyze test results.
• Knowledge of build systems like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments, VMWare, Nutanix.
• Understanding of Git, Jira, Confluence, XWiki.
• Basic understanding of networking and scripting languages.
• Ability to document test issues and deliverables.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with BDD/TDD methodologies and test case automation.
• Troubleshooting and reverse-engineering skills on Linux.
