Job description

Overview

The Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) is responsible for ensuring that all aerospace engine components manufactured, inspected, or shipped meet regulatory, customer, and organizational quality standards. Acting under delegated authority from the customer (e.g., GE Aviation, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, or HAL), the DQR performs final product verification, compliance checks, and release activities, ensuring adherence to AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform final inspection and acceptance of aircraft engine components prior to shipment; verify conformity to drawings, specifications, customer contracts, and regulatory requirements; stamp/approve components under DQR authority for customer acceptance.
  2. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and OEM-specific quality requirements; review and approve manufacturing records, inspection records, certificates of conformity, and traceability documentation; maintain accurate quality records for regulatory and customer audits.
  3. Supplier & Internal Quality Assurance: Conduct process audits and product audits at suppliers and in-house operations; ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and verified; support First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements; act as the primary quality interface with delegated authority from OEMs (GE, Rolls-Royce, Safran, etc.); represent the company during customer, DGCA, FAA/EASA, or NADCAP audits; communicate quality concerns, deviations, or waivers with customers and obtain approvals; identify recurring quality issues and drive root cause analysis; recommend improvements in manufacturing, inspection, and supplier quality processes; train and mentor inspectors and quality engineers on aerospace quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Metallurgy, or related engineering discipline.
  • Certifications (Preferred): AS9100 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor certification.
  • NADCAP awareness or auditor training.
  • GD&T and advanced metrology training.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, AS9110, AS9120 standards.
  • Strong understanding of NADCAP special processes (heat treatment, coatings, NDT, welding, machining).
  • Knowledge of DGCA/FAA/EASA airworthiness regulations.
  • Excellent interpretation skills of engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and CAPA management.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, customers, and auditors.
  • High integrity and attention to detail – ensuring zero-defect delivery.
