PhysicsWallah (PW) is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and scale our QA function for large-scale B2C products used by millions of learners across India. The role blends automation, mobile testing, and team leadership to ensure high product quality, reliability, and performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with modern testing frameworks, mobile automation (Appium), and AI-driven testing.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Proven experience in leading QA teams and managing end-to-end testing for large-scale products.
• Experience in product-based or high-growth B2C environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the QA team, ensuring high-quality product releases across web and mobile platforms.
• Define and implement test strategies, plans, and scalable QA processes for large-scale applications.
• Drive test automation initiatives using tools like Selenium, Playwright, and modern frameworks.
• Own and strengthen mobile testing practices, including automation using Appium.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to embed quality early in development.
• Implement shift-left testing to improve release velocity and quality metrics.
• Ensure robust functional, regression, integration, mobile, and performance testing processes.
• Identify release risks and implement risk-based testing strategies.
• Mentor QA engineers to foster an automation-first culture.
• Explore AI-driven testing approaches to improve efficiency (good to have).

This role demands a strong blend of automation expertise, mobile testing experience, and team leadership, ensuring high standards of product quality, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in modern testing frameworks, mobile automation (Appium), and a strong understanding of evolving practices including AI-driven testing (good to have).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the QA team, ensuring high-quality product releases across web and mobile platforms.
• Define and implement test strategies, plans, and scalable QA processes for large-scale applications.
• Drive test automation initiatives using tools like Selenium, Playwright, and modern frameworks.
• Own and strengthen mobile testing practices, including automation using Appium.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
• Implement shift-left testing practices to improve release velocity and reduce Monitor and enhance quality metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage, and release stability.
• Ensure robust functional, regression, integration, mobile, and performance testing processes.
• Identify release risks and implement risk-based testing strategies.
• Mentor and guide QA engineers, fostering a high-performance, automation-first culture.
• Explore and adopt AI-driven testing approaches to improve efficiency and coverage (good to have).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Proven experience in leading QA teams and managing end-to-end testing for large-

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in test automation using Selenium with Java.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar modern automation frameworks.
• Mandatory experience in mobile testing, including automation using Appium.
• Experience in API testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration.
• Solid understanding of test architecture, strategies, and quality metrics.
• Experience in web and mobile application testing.
• Exposure to performance testing and security testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools and practices is good to have.
