Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation testing, building frameworks, and guiding developers on best practices for unit and integration testing. As an SDET, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of our software systems through automation, testing, and continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Framework Development
  • Build and maintain robust automation frameworks to improve the testing process and software quality.
  • Design and implement reusable and maintainable test automation scripts to support testing efforts.
• Automation Expertise
  • Utilize Selenium WebDriver to create automated tests for UI and API applications.
  • Work with modern programming languages such as Kotlin or Java to develop automation code and scripts.
• Unit & Integration Testing Guidance
  • Guide and mentor developers on Unit and Integration Testing best practices.
  • Provide expertise in writing test cases that cover a wide range of scenarios and ensure proper code quality.
• Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Understand and apply BDD principles to write clear, understandable, and executable test cases.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the acceptance criteria are well-defined and mapped to tests.
• Service Virtualization
  • Implement and manage service virtualization to simulate interactions with external systems, providing realistic test environments.
  • Have 1+ years of hands-on experience with service virtualization tools and techniques.
• Build and Deployment Automation
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to create build and deployment automation processes.
  • Ensure that testing processes are integrated into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Manual Testing Identification
  • Identify and flag test cases that need to be executed manually.
  • Prioritize test cases based on impact, component, and likelihood to ensure efficient test coverage.
• Test Case Design & Edge Case Discovery
  • Use analytical and logical thinking to identify edge cases and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Organize and categorize test cases according to impact, component, likelihood, and other relevant factors.
• Collaborate with Product Manager
  • Work with Product Managers to define clear, concise, and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to the creation of living documentation that includes up-to-date acceptance criteria and testing details.
• Continuous Improvement
  • Constantly improve the testing processes, frameworks, and tools to keep up with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
  • Provide recommendations for improving product quality and development workflows.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in test automation and working as an SDET.
• Automation Tools: Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for automated testing.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Kotlin or Java for developing automation scripts.
• Unit & Integration Testing: Experience with Unit and Integration Testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
• BDD Knowledge: Strong understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and experience with BDD tools (e.g., Cucumber).
• Service Virtualization: 1+ years of experience in service virtualization techniques and tools.
• CI/CD Tools: Experience with continuous integration, build automation, and deployment tools.
• Test Case Design: Ability to design effective test cases and organize them according to risk and impact.
• Acceptance Criteria: Ability to collaborate with product management to define clear, testable acceptance criteria.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and logical thinking for identifying test scenarios and edge cases.
• Good Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Serenity Framework for BDD and reporting.
• Familiarity with test management and bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) or containerization (Docker).
• Understanding of performance testing and security testing concepts.
