Job summary

Schr dinger in Hyderabad is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team focused on validating cutting-edge computational chemistry software. You will design and implement testing strategies for Qt-based applications and workflow tools, and ensure accuracy, performance, and usability of our products.

You should have a Master’s in Chemistry or related field with exposure to software, strong analytical skills, and experience with Python and shell scripting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or related field with zero to two years of software exposure.
• Familiarity with force fields, QM/MM, and molecular modeling including docking, geometry optimization, MD, and protein modeling.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; deadline-driven and team-friendly.
• Experience with Python and shell scripting is desirable.
• Exposure to Schr dinger or computational chemistry tools like NWChem or Gaussian preferred.
• Knowledge of SDLC and software QA practices; GUI testing tools (Squish) beneficial.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative in a fast-paced environment.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through advanced computational methods!

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include working on the design, implementation, and administration of testing strategies to assess cutting-edge, Schrodingers Qt-based applications and workflow management tools.
• Responsible for identifying and reporting bugs and potential improvements, validating fixes and new features, and ensuring the scientific integrity, performance, and usability of our products.

Skills Required:

• A strong academic background, preferably a Master s degree in Chemistry (such as Physical, Theoretical, Medicinal, Materials Chemistry), Pharmacoinformatics, Physics, or a related discipline, with zero to two years of experience in a role involving significant exposure to computers and software.
• Familiarity with force fields, QM/MM methodologies, and molecular modeling techniques, including molecular docking, geometry optimization, molecular dynamics, and protein structure modeling, is preferred.
• Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Python and shell scripting is desirable.
• Prior exposure to Schr dinger software or other computational chemistry tools, such as NWChem or Gaussian, is preferred.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle and software quality assurance practices is advantageous. Experience with Squish or other GUI testing tools would be an additional benefit.
• The candidate must be highly motivated, comfortable working under deadlines, pay significant attention to detail, and possess the ability to be both self-directed yet work well within a team.
