Job summary

One Story in Maharashtra, India seeks a QA/QC Engineer to lead testing and inspection of electrical control panels. You will perform functional, HV and ESS tests, review BOMs and GA drawings, and generate test documentation to ensure dispatch-ready quality.

You will collaborate with Production, Design and R&D to resolve testing issues, conduct inward, in-process and final inspections, and prepare regular quality reports for plant management. Bachelor's in Electronics or Electrical Eng required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of proven experience in testing control panels (MCC, PCC, VFD Panels, PLC Panels).
• Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings and BOM/GA/schematics.

Responsibilities

Job Title: QA/QC Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

Experience & Required Skillset

• 2–5 years of proven experience in testing of control panels (e.g., MCC, PCC, VFD Panels, PLC Panels, Embedded control systems), including:
  • Testing and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic control panels (e.g., starters, PLC panels, converters, embedded systems)
  • Testing of electronic/electrical components and switchgears, including in-process assembly checks (dimensional, functional, etc.)
  • Conducting various tests:
    • Functional tests
    • High Voltage (HV) and Megger tests
    • Temperature rise tests
    • Endurance tests
    • Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) tests
  • Reviewing and verifying documentation:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • General Arrangement (GA) drawings
    • Schematics
    • Project-specific documentation
  • Developing and maintaining test documentation:
    • Test Plans
    • Test Procedures
    • Work Instructions
  • Performing final inspections of control panels and clearing them for dispatch
  • Collaborating with Production, Design, and R&D teams to resolve testing and quality-related issues
  • Conducting and documenting:
    • Inward inspections
    • In-process inspections
    • Final inspections
  • Preparing and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to plant-level management
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic components, materials, and relevant industry standards
• Solid grasp of electrical fundamentals and proficiency in using electrical testing tools and equipment (e.g., Megger, HV tester, power supplies)
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings:
  • Control wiring diagrams
  • Power wiring diagrams
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the electrical control panel manufacturing industry
• Experience working in a Defence organization with the above skillset (added advantage)
