Job summary

Tata Consumer Products is seeking a QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical to be based on-site in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. You will lead QA/QC activities for mechanical construction, ensuring adherence to approved quality plans, project specifications, codes and standards.

The candidate should hold a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8–12 years of QA/QC experience across heavy engineering sectors, with strong knowledge of inspection procedures, welding inspections, NDT methods, and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8–12 years of QA/QC experience in heavy engineering.
• Good knowledge of IS/ASME/ASTM standards and QA/QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and implement QA/QC procedures for mechanical construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with approved quality plans, project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Review ITPs, Method Statements, and quality documents.
• Coordinate with site teams to address quality issues and non-conformances.
• Witness inspections, testing, and documentation such as NCRs and CAP reports.

Position: QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and implement QA/QC procedures for mechanical construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with approved quality plans, project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Review and verify Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Documents.
• Conduct inspections of fabrication, erection, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and site teams to address quality-related issues and non-conformances.
• Review material inspection reports, welding records, and test certificates.
• Witness mechanical testing, equipment installation checks, and performance testing activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of QA/QC records.
• Prepare quality reports, NCRs, punch points, and corrective action reports.
• Participate in internal and client quality audits and ensure timely closure of observations.

Candidate Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
• 8 to 12 years of experience in QA/QC activities for industrial, steel, mining, beneficiation, power, cement, or heavy engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical quality standards, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
• Experience in fabrication, erection, piping, structural steel, tanks, conveyors, and mechanical equipment installation.
• Familiarity with welding inspections, NDT techniques, and quality control processes.
• Good knowledge of relevant IS, ASME, ASTM, and other applicable standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality management documentation.
