Job summary

Iris Software is seeking a Jr. Test Engineer in Dadri, UP, to join a dynamic QA team. You will focus on manual and automated testing, building robust test scripts in Typescript, and collaborating with Sr. and Lead Engineers to ensure high software quality.

You will work on CI/CD integrations, create test data, track defects in Jira, and contribute to performance testing. A degree in CS and strong testing fundamentals are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Jr. Test Engineer.
• Good coding skills in Typescript and object-oriented programming.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and enhance automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Record, play back, execute test scripts and report defects; monitor test environments.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps collaboration.
• Manage test data setup and ensure data consistency across testing phases.
• Identify, document, and prioritize defects using Jira; ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to performance and load testing by creating automated tests to validate system responsiveness.
• Generate test reports and metrics for stakeholders; improve testing processes and practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and testing tools to improve current practices.

Job Description

ROLE:

• • As a QA Engineer, the resource must have experience and a background in Manual Testing, Functional Testing, and some Test automation
  • Responsibility to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications.
  • Ability of work with Sr. and Lead Engineers on Testing strategies, optimizing testing processes, and building structure test cases and test scripts
  • Responsibilities
    • Test Script Creation: Write, review, and enhance automated test scripts to cover functional, regression, and integration testing scenarios.
    • Test Execution: Ability to record & play and execute test scripts, analyze results, and report defects to the development team. Monitor and maintain test environments to ensure consistent test execution.
    • Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, working collaboratively with development and DevOps teams to ensure timely and reliable test execution.
    • Test Data Management: Manage test data setup and ensure data consistency for different testing phases.
    • Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and prioritize defects using issue tracking tools. Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely defect resolution.
    • Performance and Load Testing: Contribute to performance and load testing efforts by creating automated tests to validate system responsiveness and stability.
    • Test Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports and metrics for various stakeholders, highlighting test coverage, results, and areas for improvement – by logging details in Jira.
    • Test Process Enhancement: Continuously enhance testing processes and methodologies to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
    • Stay Current:Stay updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and technologies related to test automation, and suggest improvements to the existing testing practices.
• What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Jr. Test Engineer – 3 -5 Yrs. Of Experience
  • Good coding skills in Typescript and experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining test scripts, test cases, test data and test standards, as per client expectations.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of testing web applications, APIs, and databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications in testing or test automation (e.g., Playwright with Typescript) is a plus.
