Job summary

Gitforce in Hyderabad is seeking a QA Engineer to find breaks before users do. You will start with manual testing and progressively move into automated testing with Cypress or Playwright, contributing to high-quality releases.

You’ll work on testing web applications and APIs, document clear test plans, and collaborate closely with engineers, product teams, and founders to raise overall product quality.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of QA experience, with hands-on manual testing of web apps.
• Strong attention to detail and curiosity about how things break.
• Clear, precise bug reporting with minimal need for follow-ups.
• Eagerness to learn test automation with modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Test web applications across functional, regression, exploratory, UI and cross-browser scenarios.
• Write clear test cases and test plans from requirements/designs.
• Explore product as a real user to find gaps that scripted tests miss.
• Log bugs with reproduction steps, evidence, and severity; track to resolution.
• Test APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Run regression cycles before releases and sign off on quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and founders to raise quality.
• Over time, build and maintain automated test suites using Cypress or Playwright.

This is a full-time, work-from-office role in Hyderabad.

What You’ll Do

TL;DR: Break our products creatively, document what you find clearly, and grow into test automation.

• Test web applications through functional, regression, exploratory, UI, and cross-browser testing
• Read requirements and designs, then write clear test cases and test plans
• Explore products like a real user, finding edge cases and gaps that scripted tests miss
• Log bugs with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and severity, then follow them through to resolution
• Test APIs using Postman or similar tools
• Run regression cycles before releases and sign off on quality
• Work closely with engineers, product, and founders to raise quality across the team
• Over time, build and maintain automated test suites using Cypress or Playwright

Qualifications

TL;DR: Solid manual testing experience, a sharp eye for detail, and curiosity about how things break.

You Are:

• 2 to 5 years into your professional QA career
• Naturally curious, someone who asks “what happens if…?”
• Detail-oriented, but able to see the big picture of how users actually use a product
• A clear writer, because your bug reports should need no follow-up questions
• Eager to learn test automation

Must-haves:

• Hands-on professional experience in manual testing of web applications
• Experience writing test cases and test plans from requirements
• Experience with exploratory, regression, and functional testing
• Experience logging and tracking bugs in Jira or similar
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Cypress or Playwright, or a strong willingness to learn them
• API testing with Postman or similar
• Mobile app testing
• Basic SQL for verifying data
• Familiarity with browser DevTools
• Experience with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar)
