Job summary

LightFury, headquartered in Bengaluru, seeks a Senior QA Engineer - III to ensure top quality for mobile and console games built with Unreal Engine. You will design and execute test plans, report bugs with clear repro steps, and verify fixes across iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

You’ll collaborate with developers and designers, contribute to test strategy, and help improve QA processes while delivering robust gameplay experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of QA experience in the gaming industry.
• Proven experience testing Unreal Engine games on mobile and console.
• Strong understanding of Unreal Engine build processes and gameplay.
• Experience with mobile devices and console dev kits.
• Familiarity with Jira, Bugzilla, or similar bug trackers.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer - III with experience in testing mobile and console games developed using Unreal Engine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the game meets high-quality standards by thoroughly testing gameplay, features, and performance across multiple platforms. You will work closely with developers, designers, and producers to identify, report, and track bugs, as well as suggest improvements to optimize the overall player experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on testing of mobile and console game builds developed in Unreal Engine.
• Execute functional, regression, and performance testing on different platforms, including iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
• Collaborate with developers and designers to identify, reproduce, and document bugs and gameplay issues.
• Write detailed and accurate bug reports, including reproduction steps and severity ratings.
• Verify fixes and track open issues through to resolution.
• Contribute to the creation and execution of test plans and test cases.
• Perform testing on multiplayer features and ensure compatibility across different network conditions.
• Provide feedback on game mechanics, user experience, and performance.
• Participate in design and feature reviews to provide input from a QA perspective.
• Assist in improving QA processes, tools, and techniques to enhance testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with external QA teams as needed for additional testing resources.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-4 years of QA experience in the gaming industry.
• Proven experience testing Unreal Engine games, specifically on mobile and console platforms.
• Strong understanding of Unreal Engine, including build processes, gameplay mechanics, and engine features.
• Experience with mobile device testing tools, as well as console development kits (PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch).
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or similar software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate issues and work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting.
• Knowledge of performance profiling and optimization techniques for mobile and console platforms.
• Familiarity with multiplayer testing methodologies.
• Experience with submission processes for mobile stores (iOS App Store, Google Play) or console certification (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
• Passion for games and a solid understanding of game development pipelines.
