ITHR Technologies Consulting LLC in India invites a founding QA Engineer to own testing end-to-end and shape how the company thinks about quality across web, mobile, and API layers that move money across 75 nations.

You will design test coverage, implement automation in CI/CD, and build the initial test suites for React/Next.js web, Flutter/React Native mobile, and Node/NestJS APIs. Collaboration with engineers, product, and leadership will be crucial.

Qualifications

• - 3+ years of hands-on QA experience across web, mobile, and API testing.
• - End-to-end testing lifecycle mastery with practical delivery.

About the role

Join us to build the quality backbone of India's next-generation payment infrastructure. As our founding QA Engineer, you will own testing end to end and shape how an entire company thinks about quality, across web, mobile, and the APIs that move money across 75 nations.

What you'll do

• Design and execute comprehensive test coverage across web, mobile, and API layers, spanning functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and edge-case testing.
• Safeguard our most critical journeys: the full transaction lifecycle, idempotency, retries, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, and chargebacks.
• Assure quality across our product suite: Payment Gateway, Merchant and Terminal Management, Loan Origination, and Prepaid Payment Instrument.
• Establish the QA strategy, standards, and processes that the entire engineering organization will build on.
• Architect and implement our automation foundation, and embed automated testing directly into CI/CD.
• Build the first automated test suites for web (React/Next.js), mobile (Flutter, React Native), and APIs (Node.js, NestJS, Express, with Rust and Go services).
• Define the quality gates and the standard of done that engineering ships against with confidence.
• Own test environments, the test data strategy, and the quality metrics you report to engineering leadership.
• Partner closely with engineers to surface, reproduce, and resolve defects quickly and cleanly.
• Grow the function over time by hiring, onboarding, and mentoring a team of QA engineers.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of hands‑on QA experience, with a clear trajectory from junior to senior responsibility.
• Deep, practical command of the end‑to‑end testing lifecycle, proven through real delivery rather than theory alone.
• Strong experience across both manual and automation testing.
• Robust API and integration testing skills, suited to an API‑first, microservices architecture.
• Proven experience testing both web and mobile applications.
• Mastery of test design techniques such as boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, decision tables, and exploratory testing.
• Hands‑on expertise with at least one web automation framework (such as Playwright or Cypress) and API testing (such as Postman/Newman or a code‑based approach).
• The self‑direction to define process and tooling in an environment that has neither yet.
• The instinct and ability to mentor others and grow into leading the function. We value demonstrated leadership potential over years of formal management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and confidence working directly with engineering, product, and leadership.

Nice to have

• Fintech, payments, banking, or wallet domain experience (gateway, PPI, cards, UPI, lending).
• A strong grasp of payments fundamentals: transaction reconciliation, settlement, PCI‑DSS, and the secure handling of PII and cardholder data.
• Working knowledge of relevant RBI guidelines for PPI and lending products.
• Mobile test automation experience (such as Appium) across Flutter and React Native.
• Experience building CI/CD‑integrated test pipelines.
• Exposure to performance, load, or security testing.
• Terminal or POS device testing experience, relevant to our Terminal Management product.
• A track record of establishing a QA function or stepping into a QA lead role at a startup.
• A recognized QA certification (e.g. ISTQB).
