Job summary

Bitwise Solutions is seeking a QA Automation Engineer in Chennai (Hybrid) with 5+ years of experience to drive testing across API, integration, regression, E2E and data pipelines in cloud environments. You will design and execute test strategies, build automation scripts, and collaborate with developers and business stakeholders in an Agile setting.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, data accuracy in AWS Glue ETL pipelines, and using tools like Robot Framework, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS/IS/Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in manual and automated software testing.
• Strong skills in API, integration, regression, end-to-end and database testing.
• Experience with automation tools like Robot Framework and Selenium WebDriver is preferred.
• Hands-on testing in cloud ETL environments (AWS Glue) is required.
• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven integrations is preferred.
• ISTQB certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
• Agile team experience with developers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on testing as an individual contributor and team member.
• Analyze requirements, design and execute test scenarios, cases and automation scripts.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and E2E tests; track and re-test defects.
• Design and execute test cases for Glue ETL pipelines to ensure data accuracy.
• Validate data transformations/migrations across data sources.
• Develop automated tests for Glue workflows using Python.
• Monitor Glue job executions and analyze logs to troubleshoot failures.
• Provide feedback to improve Glue pipeline reliability and test coverage.
• Use AWS tools, Swagger, Postman, SQL Developer, Postgres, IDEs, Jenkins, Git for testing and automation.
• Collaborate in onsite/offshore models; follow GDP and test documentation practices.
• Leverage Jira/Confluence for documentation and tracking.

QA Automation Engineer

Requirements for the Position:

1. Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Engineering preferred.
2. 48 years experience in manual and automated software testing.
3. Proficient in API, integration, regression, end-to-end, and database testing.
4. Experience with automation tools such as Robot Framework (Python) is preferred, Selenium WebDriver (Java/Python), REST Assured, is optional.
5. Hands-on experience in executing tests for ETL(Extract, Transform, Load) processes within cloud-based environments (like AWS Glue etc) is a must.
6. Experience in testing serverless architecturesfor example, verifying event-driven integrations using Amazon EventBridgeis preferred.
7. ISTQB certification is a plus.
8. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as adaptability in dynamic environments.
9. Agile team experience, collaborating with developers and Business stakeholders.
