AI Infotech Chennai is seeking an experienced QA Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, manual and automation testing across API and UI. The role focuses on building and maintaining automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright, plus API automation with Karate, Postman and Swagger.

You will drive QA strategy, participate in CI/CD, mentor teams, and collaborate with Product Owners and DevOps.

Job Overview

AI Infotech is looking for an experienced QA Test Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in Core Java, Manual & Automation Testing, (API/ UI) Automation end-to-end quality engineering initiatives across multiple projects. The ideal candidate must have strong Java programming and problem‑solving skills, along with extensive experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks using Selenium and/or Playwright. Experience in API automation using Karate, Postman, and Swagger, as well as QA strategy, Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD environments, is expected.

Strong Core Java knowledge and practical Java coding/problem‑solving ability are mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement QA strategies, test plans, processes, and quality standards.
• Manual, automation, API, and UI testing activities.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria and identify test scenarios.
• Design, develop, review, and maintain Java‑based automation frameworks.
• Lead UI automation activities using Selenium and/or Playwright.
• Perform and oversee API testing using Postman, Swagger, and Karate.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and review automation code quality.
• Identify defects, analyze root causes, and coordinate with development teams.
• Monitor QA metrics, test coverage, testing progress, quality risks, and release readiness.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Scrum Masters, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
• Use Microsoft Copilot and/or Claude AI to improve QA productivity and testing efficiency.

Required Technical Skills

1. Core Java Mandatory

Strong knowledge of Core Java fundamentals and OOPS concepts.

Collections Framework, Exception Handling, and Multithreading.

Arrays, Strings, HashMap, Lists, Sets, and common data structures.

Strong Java coding and problem‑solving skills; ability to write programs independently.

Practical experience applying Java in automation frameworks.

2. Automation Testing

Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright.

Java‑based automation framework development and maintenance.

TestNG and/or JUnit; Page Object Model (POM).

Data‑driven and hybrid automation frameworks.

Regression, end‑to‑end, and cross‑browser automation.

3. API Testing

REST API testing using Postman and Swagger.

Karate Automation Framework and API automation using Java.

Knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, JSON, and authentication mechanisms.

4. Manual Testing

Functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and system testing.

Test scenario and test case design, test execution, and defect reporting.

5. AI‑Assisted QA

Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following tools is mandatory:

Microsoft Copilot and/or Claude AI.

AI‑assisted test case and test data generation.

Automation script optimization and acceptance criteria analysis.

Defect investigation, documentation, and test coverage improvement.

6. Tools & Platforms

JIRA / Azure DevOps / TestRail; Git / GitHub; Maven / Gradle; Agile / Scrum; DevOps and CI/CD; AWS and/or Azure Cloud, AI tools for automation.

Experience & Requirements

• 3- 5 years of experience in QA Automation
• 3-5 years of experience in Java coding
• Strong hands‑on experience in Core Java and Java‑based automation.
• Proven experience managing QA teams and multiple projects.
• Experience in automation framework development, API testing, and UI automation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments.
• Practical experience using AI‑assisted QA tools such as Microsoft Copilot and/or Claude AI.
• Preferred Skills
• Performance Testing and Security Testing.
• ISTQB / ISEB / PMP / CAPM certification added advantage.
• Cloud‑based testing and AI‑driven Quality Engineering.
• Education
