This role is part of the new Test Automation Team based in Bangalore. The team owns the company's test automation framework and expands automated test coverage across our lottery platform products. The team works hybrid from the Bangalore office, with regular overlap hours with the product teams in Europe (CET). The Test Automation Engineer builds and maintains automated tests for our products, working independently within the framework architecture.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Test Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated tests for defined product areas, reliable and integrated into CI.
- Framework Contribution: Contribute improvements to the shared framework and libraries within the agreed architecture.
- Knowledge Transfer: Participate in the knowledge transfer for your product areas.
- Defect Analysis: Analyse automated test failures, distinguish product defects from test instability and track defects in Jira through to verification.
- Test Data & Environments: Create and maintain test data and environment configuration for your scope.
- Code Reviews: Take part in code reviews of test code.
- Manual Testing: Execute and monitor manual tests where automation is not appropriate.
Your Profile
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years in test automation, with a track record of building and maintaining automated test suites independently.
- Technical Expertise: TypeScript or strong JavaScript with willingness to work in TypeScript. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or comparable tooling, with readiness to work in Playwright. Experience writing tests in a BDD style.
- CI/CD Basics: Working knowledge of Git and running tests in a CI pipeline (GitLab or GitHub).
- Communication Skills: Good written and spoken English.
- Additional Assets: Lottery, gaming or other regulated-industry background. API test automation. Exposure to test reporting and quality metrics.
