Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software QA and test automation.
• Strong proficiency in Python, OOP concepts, debugging, and clean coding practices.

• Strong understanding of POM, functional testing, regression testing, and API testing.
• Experience with Postman, Python Requests, REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jira, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience mentoring QA engineers or leading QA activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python and Selenium WebDriver.
• Develop automated functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test suites using Pytest and/or behave.
• Apply OOP concepts, Page Object Model (POM), reusable components, and automation best practices.
• Debug flaky tests, conduct code reviews, and improve automation coverage and execution efficiency.
• Define and execute functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing strategies.

• Lead, mentor, and guide QA engineers across manual and automation testing.

Job Summary:

The candidate will lead automation initiatives, build scalable testing frameworks, mentor QA engineers, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and faster releases.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation & Framework Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python and Selenium WebDriver.
• Develop automated functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test suites using Pytest and/or behave.
• Apply OOP concepts, Page Object Model (POM), reusable components, and automation best practices.
• Debug flaky tests, conduct code reviews, and improve automation coverage and execution efficiency.

Functional, API & Integration Testing

• Define and execute functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing strategies.
• Perform API testing using Postman, Python Requests, or equivalent tools.
• Validate REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication, JSON/XML payloads, and error handling.
• Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
• Test applications deployed across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Validate application functionality, integrations, configurations, and environment-specific behaviour.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure-related issues.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based test environments where applicable.
• Support automated testing across cloud-hosted applications and distributed systems.

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent tools.
• Support continuous testing, release signoffs, and post-deployment validations.
• Track quality metrics, automation coverage, defect leakage, and release readiness.
• Use Git and version control workflows to manage automation code.
• Lead, mentor, and guide QA engineers across manual and automation testing.
• Provide technical direction on automation frameworks, test strategies, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Take end-to-end ownership of product quality and communicate testing progress and release risks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software QA and test automation.
• Strong proficiency in Python, OOP concepts, debugging, and clean coding practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and automation framework development.
• Experience with PyTest and/or behave.
• Strong understanding of POM, functional testing, regression testing, and API testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working across two or more cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
• Exposure to Cypress or Playwright and cloud monitoring tools.
• Experience working in a product-based or fast-paced engineering environment.
• ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications are a plus.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A technically strong, hands-on QA Automation Lead with expertise in Python, Selenium, automation framework development, API testing, CI/CD, and multi-cloud environments.
