Job summary

Evertz Microsystems Limited in Bengaluru seeks a QA Automation Engineer to join the Overture QA team. You will test complex software, maintain automated suites, write tests, analyze failures, and collaborate with Dev to improve coverage across products including hardware–software interfaces.

This role supports a hybrid/remote model spanning India and Canada, with emphasis on Python, Linux, and AWS, plus opportunities to contribute to testing standards and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of proven working experience as a QA engineer.
• Strong Python programming skills and test automation experience.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ISTQB Foundation or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux systems administration and Bash scripting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work across India and Canada in a remote/hybrid setup.
• Willingness to learn a large system with hardware and software interactions.

As a QA Automation Engineer at Evertz India, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions that power broadcast technology globally. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to software quality through test automation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support continuous improvement in a dynamic, technology-driven environment spanning India and Canada.

As part of the Overture QA team,

• Test complex software
• Maintain and extend the automated test suite
• Write and execute automated tests
• Analyze test failures and report bugs
• Work with Development to increase automated test coverage across the product
• Contribute programs/procedures to improve testing efficiency
• Developing new automated test cases
• Maintaining existing automated test cases
• Analyzing test failures
• Reviewing test source code
• Gaining thorough understanding of broadcast industry standards and specifications
• Collaborating with developers to test bug fixes
• Writing documentation for automated tests
• Writing reports and reporting bugs to a high standard
• Working with QA team members based in India and Canada

Essential Skills

• Strong Python programming skills
• Proven test automation experience
• Proven analytical/problem-solving skills
• Linux systems administration experience
• Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
• 3 to 5 years of proven working experience as a QA engineer
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
• Familiarity with software testing processes (ISTQB Foundation, or equivalent experience)
• Ability to work with Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) OS; system administrator-level skills would be a plus
• Experience with bash coding
• Willingness to learn a huge system with hardware and software interactions

• Office Timing: 4pm to 12.30am IST
