Job Title: QA Automation Engineer – Business Analysis & Agile Delivery

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated QA/Automation Engineer with strong exposure to functional, API, backend, cloud, and automation testing, who can also contribute to requirements analysis, stakeholder coordination, and Agile/Scrum delivery. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in AWS-based environments, interface/infrastructure testing, and a growing aptitude for bridging business needs with technical test execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform automation and validation of interface/infrastructure workflows within AWS-based environments to support reliable end-to-end delivery.
- Gather, clarify, and analyze business requirements with stakeholders; translate business needs into testable functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Cucumber, and TestNG for web and API testing.
- Execute API testing using Postman; validate backend services, microservices, and REST API workflows.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and sanity testing across releases.
- Coordinate and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and release validation activities.
- Participate in and help manage Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand‑ups, and retrospectives — including status tracking and action item follow‑up.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders on defect analysis, impact assessment, prioritization, and resolution using Jira.
- Write and execute SQL queries for backend/database validation (MySQL).
- Support CI/CD-related testing activities using Jenkins and version control via Git.
- Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement of test coverage and repeatability.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–4 years of experience in software testing, with exposure to automation, API, and backend/cloud testing.
- Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Cucumber (BDD), TestNG, Core Java.
- Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman) and REST API concepts.
- Working knowledge of AWS or other cloud environments, including interface/infrastructure testing.
- Good understanding of SQL/MySQL for data validation.
- Experience with Jira, Git, Jenkins, and working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodology, including sprint planning and backlog discussions.
- Demonstrated ability in requirement gathering, requirement analysis, and gap identification.
- Experience supporting UAT, defect lifecycle management, and release validation.
- Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Good to Have
- Exposure to Spring Boot-based application testing.
- Prior experience as a liaison between business/product teams and technical/development teams.
- Certifications or coursework in IT automation (e.g., Google IT Automation with Python) or business/data analytics.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Information Science, Computer Science, or related field).
