Job summary

Pinnacle Group in Noida is seeking a passionate QA Engineer for IoT products and embedded systems. You will validate firmware, backend services, APIs, and mobile/web applications across device-cloud integrations, databases, and cloud platforms, ensuring end-to-end quality.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Firmware, Backend, Product, and Engineering teams, performing SIT, regression, and release validation, and documenting defects with clear root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA).
• Hands-on testing of IoT products, embedded systems, firmware, or device-cloud integrations.
• Knowledge of STLC, defect life cycle, test planning, and release validation.
• Experience in backend, API, database, firmware, or application testing.
• Exposure to SIT and end-to-end product validation.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scenarios.
• Validate firmware, backend services, APIs, databases, and web/mobile apps.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, edge-case, and negative testing.
• Own end-to-end SIT for IoT devices, cloud communication, hardware interactions, and application workflows.

• Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and release validation.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented QA Engineer with hands-on experience in IoT products, embedded systems, firmware validation, backend testing, and application testing. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring end-to-end product quality by driving testing activities across connected devices, cloud platforms, APIs, databases, and mobile/web applications.

This role involves working closely with Firmware, Backend, Product, and Engineering teams to validate complex integrations, identify defects, and ensure smooth product releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Perform validation across firmware, backend services, APIs, databases, and web/mobile applications.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, edge-case, and negative testing.
• Own end-to-end System Integration Testing (SIT) for IoT devices, cloud communication, hardware interactions, and application workflows.
• Validate device-to-cloud integrations and multi-product interaction flows.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with firmware, backend, application, automation, and product teams for issue resolution.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, requirement reviews, test strategy discussions, and release validation activities.
• Analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed defect reports including reproduction steps and root-cause observations.
• Ensure product quality standards are met before releases.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:

• 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA).
• Hands-on experience testing IoT products, connected devices, embedded systems, firmware, or device-cloud integrations.
• Strong understanding of:
• Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Defect Life Cycle
• Test Planning & Test Case Design
• Release Validation Processes
• Experience in backend, API, database, firmware, or application testing.
• Exposure to System Integration Testing (SIT) and end-to-end product validation.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional Agile teams.

Good to Have:

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, communication protocols, and cloud-based IoT architectures.
• Familiarity with automation testing concepts and tools.
• Experience working with logs, monitoring tools, and defect tracking platforms such as Jira.
