Job summary

TEGNA in Chennai is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 3–7 years of experience to join our technology team and help build scalable automation testing capabilities.

You will design robust test frameworks and ensure quality across critical applications using Playwright, TypeScript and Cucumber. Collaboration with developers, product and QA teams is essential to deliver high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of QA automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright + TypeScript + Cucumber.
• Experience with end-to-end and regression testing.
• Nice to have cloud exposure.

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer with 3–7 years of experience to join our technology team in Chennai!

What You’ll Be Working On?

You’ll play a key role in building and improving our automation testing capabilities — from designing robust test frameworks to ensuring quality across critical applications.

What We’re Looking For?

3–7 years of QA Automation experience with strong hands‑on expertise in:

Good to have: SQL, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Agile/Scrum and cloud exposure.

A Quick Note

If your experience is primarily Selenium and you haven’t worked hands‑on with Playwright, this role may not be the right fit.

We’re specifically looking for engineers who can hit the ground running with Playwright + TypeScript + Cucumber.
